About Dermal Fillers
What are dermal fillers and what can they help?
Dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that is naturally found in our bodies. Hyaluronic acid is what makes our skin look plump and hydrated, giving it that youthful appearance. As we age, we lose a high percentage of hyaluronic acid every year, alongside collagen and elastin, all of which are crucial to maintaining that smooth and plump look.
We like to view and treat the face as a whole, this creates harmony to the overall look and priorities facial balancing as opposed to treating individual areas that may look disproportionate to the rest of the face.
By using hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers, we are able to enhance facial features by replacing lost volume, improve balance and symmetry to the face, reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles and enhance particular areas to give more contour and shape.
Procedure
How long does it take?
A detailed consultation will be carried out to assess the areas of concern and carry out an overview of health, expectations for the treatment and any questions. A bespoke plan will be devised specifically to you to ensure you leave with natural results that enhance your look.
The treatment time can vary depending on the concern(s) and how many areas are treated. Typically an appointment including consultation time is expected to last 1 hour.
Results
How long does it last?
The effects of dermal filler vary from patient to patient (factors such as genetics, medication, lifestyle and environment all play a role) but typically results last between 6-18 depending on initial presentation and the volume required.
Post procedure you can expect to see your results immediately, of which will take 3-4 weeks to settle to give a true result.
Aftercare
Is there any downtime?
Almost all patients can resume their normal activities post procedure.
Aftercare instructions are given post treatment. Please follow our recommended protocol to ensure you maximise the longevity of your results.
