About Under Eye Treatments
What causes under eye concerns and how can we help?
Under eye concerns are a common concern for many people. Depending on your concern, there are many factors that can cause these issues, including genetics factors, volume loss creating grooves and shadows and venous pooling contributing to darkening of the under eyes.
We have an extensive range of treatment options for under eye concerns as we believe one size does not fit all, and each treatment should be tailored to the concern.
Our treatments for under eyes include:
Dermal fillers
A light viscosity of hyaluronic acid based dermal filler specifically designed to treat the delicate undereye area can be used to address undereye volume loss (also known as hollowing).
Reducing the look of sunken eyes can in turn reduce the appearance of dark circles and lines and give a more smoother look to the under eyes.
Anti-wrinkle injections
Small doses of botulinum toxin can be used to help reduce the appearance of dynamic lines and wrinkles around the eye area (also known as crow’s feet) caused by muscle movement, like laughing, squinting and smiling. It is important to note that Botulinum toxin will only temporarily inhibit the muscles causing the lines and wrinkles. If the lines and wrinkles are etched in the skin, another treatment may be appropriate or a hybrid approach may be needed.
Polynucleotides
A regenerative treatment used to stimulate collagen production, increase tissue regeneration and help to re-model the skin. Polynucleotides will help with poor skin quality, lax skin that has lines and wrinkles and also help to introduce and encourage new cell turnover to improve dark eyes and hyperpigmentation.
Skinboosters or Mesotherapy
An even lighter viscosity of hyaluronic acid (than dermal fillers) to help hydrate the under eye area and improve the skins quality and elasticity. Instead of adding volume or increasing cell turnover, skin boosters enhance the skins natural properties by adding natural components such as amino acids, anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals.
Procedure
How long does it take?
A detailed consultation will be carried out to assess the areas of concern and carry out an overview of health, expectations for the treatment and any questions.
A bespoke plan will be devised specifically to you to ensure you leave with natural results that enhance your look.
The treatment time can vary depending on the concern(s) and how many areas are treated. Typically an appointment including consultation time is expected to last 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Results
How long does it last?
The effects of under eye treatments can vary from patient to patient (factors such as genetics, medication, lifestyle and environment all play a role) and the type of treatment carried out under the eyes.
Typically results last (following full protocol) :
- Dermal filler: 8-18 months
- Anti-wrinkle: 2-3 months
- Polynucleotide: 6-12 months
- Skin boosters: 4-8 weeks
Aftercare
Is there any downtime?
Almost all patients can resume their normal activities post procedure.
Aftercare instructions are given post treatment. Please follow our recommended protocol to ensure you maximise the longevity of your results.
